1. Matthias Church (Mátyás Templom) 

Matthias Church was built in the 13th and recreated in the 19th century. It is a really beautiful neo ghotic church with nicely painted interior.

 

2. Fishermen's Bastion (Halászbástya)

Fishermans Bastion is situated next to Matthias church. It was built 100 years ago to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the Hungarian's (Magyar) settled down in Europe. There are 7 towers which are presenting the 7 tribes who came from the east.

 

 

3. Synagogue (Jewish Museum)

In the heart of the city you can find the second biggest synagogue in the world. In the exhibition of the museum there is a collection of ritual objects, and many pictures about the Hungarian holocaust.

 

4. Heroes Square (Hösök Tere)

In Heroes square you can find Gabriel archangel with the historical hungarian leaders. It was built for the Millennium celebrations in 1896.

 

5. St. Stephens Basilica

The Basilica is 96 meters high, exatly the same as the Parliament. It marks the conquest which was in 896. The Basilisa was started to build in 1851 and it was finished for 1905. The holy right hand of St. Stephen's rests un the chapel.

6. Parliament

 The Parliament’s building is one of the most beautiful and decorative sights of Budapest. This building was built at the turn of the 20th century with loads of tiny spikes.

 

7. Váci Street - Vörösmarty Square

 Vörösmarty Square is the beginning of the city center of Budapest. Váci street is one of the main streets of Budapest’s downtown. It is a very nice pedestrian street which sets out from Vörösmarty square. Here you can find the two most popular and nicest cafés of the city. Gerbaud (which is an old one) and Art Café (new one).

8. Gellért Hill

From Gellert hill you will get the most beautiful view of the city. Telescopes helps you to get the details. There are nice cafés and restaurant at the top.

 

 

9. Margaret Island (Margitsziget)

Margaret Island is located between Margaret bridge and Árpád bridge, in the middle of Danube river. On the island there is a 100 hectars park, which is beautiful and very colorful. Here you can find Englis, Japanese and French gardens, old water tower, and many kinds of sports facilities.

 

 

10. Statue Park

This park offers you an open air exhibiton and there is no any other parks like this in the world. Until the recent Hungarian political changes, huge and giant monuments are collected in the park.
